anchorGreetings and welcome to my website.  I am Mare B. Von Lindern “Coach”, and I am the physical education specialist here at St. Mary School.  I am a dedicated teaching professional and have been teaching for 29 years, 26 of those years here at St. Mary’s School.

I am a native New Yorker, and hail from Long Island, NY.  Growing up my family was fortunate to live in different countries due to my dad’s job.  I am the fourth of six kids, and lucky enough to have raised a yellow Labrador, Timber.  We headed first to Rio de Janiero, Brazil for 2 years before heading to Brussels, Belgium.  I lived in Waterloo, famous for Napoleon Bonaparte and the Battle of Waterloo, for 8 years.  Next stop was New Jersey.  When deciding on colleges I wanted to go away to college like my older brothers and sister, and found my way to Ohio.  I am a proud graduate of Kent State University.

Three of my teaching years  were spent working  for the Department of Defense Dependents  Schools and was assigned to RAF Chicksands Elementary and Jr. High School in Bedforshire, United Kingdom, about a thirty minute train ride outside of London.  This was a two year assignment that I was able to extend for an additional year.

In my spare time I am involved in working with the homeless, sit on the Housing Corporation Board of Gamma Epsilon chapter of Delta Gamma Fraternity in Kent, and I am involved with CYO sports.  My hobbies include collecting Raggedy Ann and Andy memorabilia as well as  PEZ containers, spending time with  friends and family, the beach, swimming, traveling, hot air ballooning, and the YMCA in Painesville.  I love teaching my subject area, and find working with the kids, parents, and grandparents a wonderful life long commitment.  I am thankful to help guide, inspire, lead, and teach in a Catholic school setting.  My catholic faith has been inspired by the examples my parents set for me growing up.
